Seaweed Feels

Aug 31, 2015

I'm all for a great face mask--especially since I have sensitive skin. Every product I have tested from LUSH has been nothing but a positive experience. I love their packaging, their themes, the scents and most of all, the recyclable LUSH pots! Saving the environment and saving my skin, all at once.
This time I tested out the "BB Seaweed" face mask. I am a huge lover of the ocean and this was just a mere reminder of how much I miss the beach and the salt water on my skin. The mix contains seaweed flakes and the smell of salt water. (Don't be fooled! It looks like tartar sauce.) I've noticed that my skin is cleaner and much smoother. I would definitely use this mask again. Hell, I might just go pick up a pot right now.
Make your way over to LUSH! xo
It definitely looks like tartar sauce. Don't eat it.. :)

Everything is usually a little bit more crazy during the middle of the week than the others, especially when you decide to wear a dress with ripped denim. Ahem, me. But sometimes, you just need a little bit of crazy to be normal. Incredibly ironic how that works, but it just does. With schools--such as mine--that have already began or those that are just around the corner, it is ideal to carry purses or backpacks with tons of space for random little knick-knacks. My backpack was more than perfect for a great appearance at school. It's not impossible to wake up late and make it to school still looking fabulous. Happy back-to-school, all! xo

Gracias, Madre.

Aug 21, 2015

Since I'm missing home a little, let's throw it back on a friday. Wining and dining, walking and talking--just a normal afternoon roaming the busy streets of LA. I mean don't get me wrong, the bay area is incredible and the culture is so lively, but sometimes you just miss a piece of home. The friends, family and most of all, my comfortable bed. But, the good thing is that home is only a long car-ride away and you can always count on good ol' public transportation! "There's no place like home."

So if you're ever in LA and looking for a fun place to eat really good vegetarian/vegan foods, go to Gracias Madre. (There is also a location in SF.) I am a pescatarian and usually do not prefer to eat vegetarian, but this place is seriously one of my favorites. Also extra points because I love mexican food. It's a little pricey, but definitely worth the splurge. Especially on the cocktails and drinks, the snow cone margaritas are to die for! (Not pictured.) Afterwards, hit up Carmela Ice Cream.  Incredibly delicious homemade ice creams with unique flavors. (Also a location in Pasadena.) My favorite was the salted caramel. Ice cream lovers, beware! You WILL want to order 5 more cups of this stuff.

I marched around town in all my favorite basics! Forever 21 all around in my black skinny jeans and a horizontally-striped simple tank. Also, my trusty white high-top Chucks--every California girl's must-have. Topped off with some delicate jewels, Ray-Ban aviators and my Dooney & Bourke crossbody. It's always a good day in LA when you can walk around in summer clothes!

(P.S. Totally lusting over The Packed Party's Doorstep Necklace. It would be a perfect memory of my home while I'm away. )
The Retna murals can be found all over LA. Check him out on Instagram: @ironeyeretna.
The bar setting is TO DIE FOR. Lusting over this decor!
Too delicious. I love love love chips and salsa. Anyone who knows me know that Mexican is my favorite--the American kind of Mexican though.

End of Summer.

Aug 18, 2015

With summer coming to a close and sadly, school starting this thursday, I decided to round out my wardrobe and opt for something that fits just right in between. Sporting a little bit of blue-and-black, professional-and-daring, I'm ready for anything! Blue button-up, black slip-on sandals with knee-slit jeans. (My favorite pair that I DIY'd myself.)

Cheers to a new school year and an amazing summer!

Must-Have Sunnies

Aug 11, 2015

must-have sunnies

Everyone knows that all a girl really needs to complete her perfect outfit is a pair of good sunglasses. They are truly the best accessory, along with the purse, shoes, jewelry... you know what I mean. Even Damsel in Dior feels the same way according to Snapchat: Her biggest pet-peeve is taking her photos without her sunnies! (Btw, I love Jacey Duprie way too much. If you're not following her on snapchat--@damselindior, you're missing out on life!) Shay Mitchell would even agree that sunglasses are a girl's best friend--or her sunglass collection says so indirectly.

Beside all the people obsessed with this glorious accessory, I decided to share a couple of my favorites. The ones I wish were in my own closet. With so many new trends coming out, I "rounded" out some of my newest favorites. With 1-3 being a little more on the classic side, 4-6 with a little bit of wire and 7-9 full of M E O W. These are just the perfect kinds to be worn all year long!

To Beach or Not To Beach.

Aug 9, 2015

Considering that in my blog posts which I don't have to type much, just about my clothing, I still suffer from severe writer's block. This week has just been extremely hectic so I have been a little out of the loop lately. No new friends and no new posts.. struggle is real. With my big move to Northern California approaching so fast, the stress has been off the charts. So much to pack and so much to do, but I have NO idea where to start. Also, it's my first time moving away and being away from my family. I am so used to being in the comfort of my own home, it's definitely going to be a crazy new experience.

Between all the moving and all the craziness, I've been given the awesome opportunity to collaborate with The Mint Julep Boutique. Their online boutique has a plethora of options from dresses, rompers to fancy blouses--all perfect for any event! I sported their "To Beach Or Not To Beach Shorts" (<--that's a link), which was more than perfect for this summer's festivities. I love wearing any shade of blue or white, all year long. It's the perfect color combination for it makes any outfit a little bit lighter and happier.

Living so close to the ocean, we took advantage of the tides and had a picnic off the rocks right next to the ocean. It was a gorgeous day outside and the water was incredibly clear and B L U E. I wore my gorgeous and versatile shorts with a white button up t-shirt. I slipped on some knitted espadrilles for an extra casual look. Other than my outfit, it was perfectly simple for a nice day out along the ocean.

Make your way on over to The Mint Julep Boutique and check out some goodies. They have anything you need for every occasion you're attending! xo

Loving the blue water. Doesn't even feel like home!
